What is Delegance for Slack?

Delegance Insurance brings Orin, your AI insurance assistant, directly into your Slack workspace. Instead of switching between apps or logging into a portal, your team can @mention Orin or send a direct message to manage your commercial insurance program without leaving the conversation.

Orin connects securely to your existing Delegance Brokerage account. Your data is protected by enterprise-grade security with OAuth 2.0 authentication, request signing verification, and tenant-isolated data storage.

How to install

  1. Click the Add to Slack button below, or visit your Delegance portal's Team Management page.
  2. Sign in with your Slack workspace admin account and review the requested permissions.
  3. Click Allow to install Orin in your workspace.
  4. Orin will appear in your workspace — @mention in any channel or send a direct message to get started.

How it works in Slack

  • @mention in channels — Type @Orin followed by your question in any channel where the app is invited. Great for team-visible insurance queries.
  • Direct messages— Send Orin a DM for private conversations about sensitive policy details, claims, or financial information.
  • Natural language— No slash commands to memorize. Just ask in plain English, e.g. “What's my GL aggregate limit?” or “Generate a COI for Acme Corp.”

Security and privacy

  • Slack request signing— Every request from Slack is verified using HMAC-SHA256 signature verification to prevent tampering.
  • OAuth 2.0 installation— Standard Slack OAuth flow with minimal scopes requested following the principle of least privilege.
  • No message data storage— Orin does not read, store, or index your Slack messages. It only processes messages where it is directly @mentioned or DM'd.
  • Tenant isolation— Your insurance data is strictly separated from other companies at the database level with row-level security.
  • Disconnect anytime— Remove the app from your workspace settings at any time. All active sessions are immediately invalidated.

Requirements

  • An active Delegance Brokerage account with at least one insurance policy on file.
  • Slack workspace admin permissions to install apps (or request installation from your admin).
  • A paid Slack plan is required to use the AI agent experience in Slack's app container. Orin's other features, including DMs and @mentions, work on free Slack plans.
